Burlesque is a joyous musical ride that is both deliciously campy and seriously entertaining thanks to exciting musical numbers and a surprisingly good cast. Here’s hoping you’ll have as much frivolous fun as I did.
The soundtrack is complete with sappy ballads and jazzy dance numbers, most of which are musical delights. Only two really stick out as significant to the story, though: the Diane Warren-penned ballad “You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me” performed by Cher and “Bound to You,” performed by Aguilera who also co-wrote the track. Each of these songs express the emotions of their respective characters in a moving way. If this movie is going to get any kind of Oscar attention, it will be for one of these two songs (is it too much to hope for both?).
