It’s Hollywood North the sequel.

The film and TV industry in Toronto is turning around after a few rough years.

Statistics from the Toronto Film and TV Office show a 25 per cent increase in production spending in 2011 over 2010, which adds up to $1.13-billion, more than $200-million more than 2010.

The SARS crisis and the higher Canadian dollar have taken some of the shine off filming in Toronto. Some of the big productions this summer have been the sequel to “Kick-Ass,” with Jim Carrey and Nicolas Cage and a remake of Stephen King’s “Carrie.”

The popular American show “Suits” is also filming until mid-October and the remake of “Robocop” is in town until late December. You’ll also see the “Rookie Blue” crews around since they’re shooting season four until late January.
