George Clooney recently told E! News that “Ocean’s 14” is likely going to film next year with original franchise stars Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Don Cheadle expected to return. The Oscar winner first teased there was a “great” script for “Ocean’s 14” in 2023.
Clooney told Uproxx in 2023 that “we have a really good script for another ‘Ocean’s’ now, so we may end up doing another one. It’s actually a great script.”
When asked if the script was for a potential “Ocean’s 14,” Clooney responded: “Well… I don’t want to call it that… I mean, the idea is kind of like ‘Going in Style.’”
Clooney was referring to Martin Brest’s 1979 heist comedy, which famously starred George Burns, Art Carney, Lee Strasberg and Charles Hallahan. Zach Braff remade the film in 2017 with a cast that featured Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Alan Arkin. The plot centers on a three senior citizens who team up to pull off a heist.
Whatever “Ocean’s 14” turns out to be, this entry is separate from the previously reported franchise prequel that is expected to star “Barbie” favorites Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. Filmmaker Jay Roach and written by Carrie Solomon are attached to the prequel, which is expected to take place in 1960s Europe.
