“Wonder Woman” dominated social media buzz last week with more than 136,000 new conversations, according to media-measurement firm comScore and its PreAct service.
Warner Bros. released an official trailer and teaser posters on Nov. 3, following its trailer announcement video. Starring Gal Gadot, the action-packed trailer showed her blocking bullets with her Bracelets of Submission, smashing through a window with her shield, and aerial kicking a man in slow motion. “Wonder Woman,” directed by Patty Jenkins, opens June 2, 2017.
Warner’s “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” produced nearly 60,000 new conversations and has generated over 806,000 conversations cumulatively. It is on track to draw at least $75 million in its opening weekend on Nov. 18-20 for the North American market.
Universal-Illumination’s animated “Sing” generated more than 42,000 new conversations in the wake of a new trailer on Nov. 2, and the song “Faith” from the soundtrack two days later, performed by Ariana Grande and Stevie Wonder. “Sing” hits theaters on Dec. 21.
Disney/Lucasfilm’s “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” generated over 35,000 new conversations last week. The first spinoff of the new Star Wars franchise, which opens Dec. 16, has generated 1.84 million cumulative conversations on social media.
Warner’s “The Lego Batman Movie” produced more than 17,000 new conversations after releasing a new trailer on Nov. 4. “Lego Batman” opens Feb. 10.
